Snack Heroes and Heroines!  With the turning of the year, we need to have our Sunday School families sign up for a turn or two bringing a simple and nutritious snack! The sign up for Snack Heroes is on the ledge in the Arches. Thanks much!

Think Summer!  Which means that United Methodist summer camps are coming! Now is a great time to plan for a fun and faith-building experience at one of our many United Methodist camp locations. For generations, Christian camping has turbo-charged the faith formation of people of all age!  Pastor Dan invites you to explore the incredible variety of options at this website: umcamping.org.  And, our church provides “camperships” of 50% of the camp cost, making this an even sweeter deal for a life-changing experience! Contact me, Pastor Dan, with any questions (I've been involved in our UM camps for decades).

Sunday School for Pre-K through 4th grades.  These classes use our United Methodist “Deep Blue” curriculum.  (9:30-10:30 a.m., beginning in the Arches on the second floor.)

Sunday School for 5th and 6th graders.  The 5th and 6th graders “submerge” themselves in issues of Christian faith and life with the “Submerge” curriculum from Cokesbury. They meet in Room 305.

Family Foundations Class for Parents of Young ChildrenWe may feel like we are stressed out and stuck in an impossible parenting situation. We may feel like we can no longer fly. Perhaps we should take a lesson from the penguin, a bird who has learned to adapt. To go deeper. To truly fly...underwater. Mantu Joshi, author of the “The Resilient Parent,” will be leading from his own book an informal study through the end of May for parents who are ready to take the plunge and discover/discuss their own penguin–like resilience through mindfulness in parenting. We will be using his book as a launching point for sincere dialogue around what it is really like to be a parent in today’s culture. Parents of very young children are especially encouraged to participate. Meeting in Room 304 during the Sunday School hour.

Baptisms.  If you are interested in baptism for yourself or a child, please contact Pastor Dan Duncan at dduncan@umc-kzo.org, or one of the other pastors (381-6340).

Deep Blue is the new awe-inspiring resource for children which includes adventure, exciting stories, science experiments, arts and crafts, animated video storytelling, and active games-all combined into a living–faith experience that will help children discover what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ today!
