"Food Chains" Documentary

The YWCA, JFON, and Center for Civic Engagement will present a showing of Award-winning “Food Chains” at our church on January 17, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. The film lasts 83 minutes and the entire program will last a little more than two hours. The film will be shown in the sanctuary. Highlighted in the film is the Coalition of Immokalee Workers and the creation of the Fair Food Program in Florida's tomato industry to combat the injustices in the agricultural industry. The film will be followed by a Q&A panel discussion with agencies that provide direct services to farm workers. Topic of discussion will be around agricultural work in Michigan, specifically West Michigan and Kalamazoo and how agencies represented on the panel advocate for workers. Light refreshments will be served. Please join us for this enlightening documentary.
