Be it resolved that we, the Church Council of First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, Michigan, endorse the concepts behind Red Flag laws, universal background checks for gun purchases and the limitations of clip capacities for semi-automatic weapons. Further, we resolve that these views be communicated to legislators who serve our congregation both in federal and state legislatures; and to the relevant executive leadership in both levels of government.
