For the last three years, members of our church have joined together to work for a week at the Methodist Children’s Home in Coronado, Costa Rica. The Home houses children who have been declared by Costa Rica’s Social Servics as legally abandoned. Our missionaries, Will and Ella Faircloth, guide teams of volunteer workers to do the construction work. Two homes for children have already been completed. The construction work includes working with cement, rebar, stucco, and paint. Other less strenuous jobs are also available. Under the supervision of a contractor, our team has been helping build a multi-purpose building which will be used for worship services, community outreach, tutoring students, children’s recreation, and business offices. Our mission work also includes interaction with the children and providing lessons and activities which carry a Christian message. The 2019 Costa Rica team is in place and will return to Costa Rica in January to continue their mission work. If you are interested in participating on a future team or making a donation to support the project, contact Susan Eden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
