Lent 2021: Holy Vessels
Online Worship @ 6pm
In person Communion & Symbolic Hand Washing @ 7-8pm at FUMC
You are invited to Holy Thursday to remember that we are healed and still healing. A woman with an alabaster jar anointed Jesus out of love and devotion. We receive an anointing to prepare ourselves to receive the Spirit of Christ anew. Breaking the bread and lifting the cup of grace, Jesus gave thanks for the healing that had been manifested and the healing that is yet to come. This is the Feast of Love, come nourish your soul and hear Jesus say, “I am always with you.” At 6pm we will offer a short online worship of readings, prayers, hymns, anointing and a communion liturgy. You are invited to take communion in your own homes or come to the church lawn off the parking lot to receive communion, and wash hands as a symbolic act of service and love, following the online worship, at 7pm. For our online worship, please have bread or crackers and juice or water if you will be receiving at home. Also, please have a small amount of oil for anointing. This can be a simple oil from your kitchen cupboard or a little lotion. Come, let us create sacred space, find healing and restoration.
Events taking place at church will be located on the lawn off the parking lot. As with previous outdoor events, masks and social distancing are required and we will not have use of the bathrooms. Gluten free bread will be available for in person Communion.
