This weekend in worship we celebrate Transfiguration Sunday, that great moment when Jesus is illuminated on the mountain, and voice of God speaks saying, “This is my son, the beloved…” while Moses and Elijah minister to him. Moses is the embodiment of all the law and Elijah is the embodiment of all the prophets. This moment serves to affirm that Jesus will be the fulfillment then of all the law and all the prophets. But let’s not forget about the disciples who in that moment saw Jesus like they had never seen him before…a real mountaintop moment. It raises the question “What are some moments you have seen Jesus like never before?” When all when was finished Jesus told them not to say anything until after his resurrection. Why? Because some things only make sense this side of Jesus’ resurrection. Which raises another question. “What are some things that only make sense because of Jesus’ resurrection?” Also, this Sunday in worship we celebrate Kaden Seals’ Baptism! So grab a cup of coffee and join us!
