First United Methodist Church Encourages Generosity
First United Methodist Church is a strong community. Our congregation is very generous in supporting the life and ministry of our church, as well as many local and global outreach activities.
Our work supporting members and our community will not stop because of the current public health challenge. As we alter the way we operate, please consider giving via our online donation option.
You can choose where your donation goes, frequency, start date, and payment type. You can use a credit or debit card as well as direct debit from your checking or savings account.
Fund choices include:
- Operating Expenses – is the foundation of all our ministries. It covers personnel and building expenses; our worship programs, education, and congregational care; and our support of the world-wide United Methodist Church. It enables our wide variety of special outreach and justice ministries, as we carry out our mission to experience, celebrate, and share God’s love.
- Helping Our Neighbor – is an outreach ministry for vulnerable community members providing eviction and utility shutoff prevention assistance, with compassion and partnerships. Food assistance has been identified as a more immediate need at this time, and is being provided with the local economy in mind and social distancing measures in place.
- Dream Team Fund – is a three-year capital campaign with the goal of raising $1,000,000 to increase affordable housing opportunities in Kalamazoo. We partner with five non-profits with decades of experience in providing housing, supportive services, and education to their residents.
- Other Designated Funds – includes Food Pantry, Justice For Our Neighbors (JFON), Memorial gifts, Music Ministry, Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, Special Offerings, United Methodist Women, Youth Ministry, other outreach and justice projects, and a whole lot more.
We appreciate your giving. The church continues to do important work thanks to your generosity. We will weather this together.
