Event Arriving
Led by Rev. Matt Weiler
Isaiah 7:10-14, Matthew 1:1-18 and Matthew 1:19-25
Here is the good news of the Gospel: we are all pregnant with the possibility of giving birth to Christ in the world. Just the same as with Mary – the Holy Spirit longs to come to us, each one, and fill us with the grace and love of Jesus, that in filling us we might deliver that same grace and love into a hurting world. And just like Mary and Joseph we are afraid. We are afraid in this moment to walk outside our own front door lest we get sick. We are afraid to turn on the news lest we hear another tragic story. We are afraid of saying “yes” to God’s audacious invitation…whatever that invitation may be. And, just the same as to Joseph and Mary, the Holy Spirit speaks to us those ancient words, “Do not be afraid.”
Joseph said “yes.”
Mary said “yes.”
Their collective yes delivered love into the world.
And what of your “yes”?
